A Dozen Ideas is a new creative venture by Nic Howard. Nic has always surrounded herself with creative endeavours, having spent years travelling the world teaching papercrafts, she now finds herself leading a much preferred quieter life in her comfy home studio with her radio, beads and mixed media treasures surrounding her.
Nic prides herself on sourcing high quality materials. Many of the beads are handcrafted by local and overseas artisans, often resulting in variations in colours and shapes of the beads and other jewellery components. Trinkets and treasures are sourced from overseas and combined with other mixed media elements to create artwork that is both unique and original each time.
Nic's goals are to provide unique handcrafted items, many of which are carefully created in her studio. Nothing is rushed, larger jewellery and art pieces can take hours to complete and often have a sentimental element, making them perfect gifts.
Nic's home studio is a retreat within her day and is often shared with her daughter. The artwork or jewellery you buy may have been subjected to loud singing or spontaneous dancing and laughing during the day. Those things, along with the occasional sneaky chocolate, is essential to the creative process.
Nic's business is new and relies on your support. If you love her products, please support her by visiting her facebook and instagram pages. Shares, likes and the occasional comment are all very much appreciated.
And finally, why A Dozen Ideas? Nic's family brainstormed for hours trying to think of a name for her new creative business. While stumped on a name the question was asked:
"Well what are you selling? Like how many ideas do you have?"
Nic answered "I don't know, more than 11 but less than 13?" (joking around).
"About a Dozen, then, Mum?"
And there it was. A Dozen Ideas was born.
